Posie Rosy Cheeks Final

Whilst working on my Kew project, I have also been developing my Posie, rosy cheeks book behind the scenes. During this time I have been designing the different pages and developing the text to work towards amore final piece. This has been a long final process, with extra research and playing around with a range of test pages. Below shows some of the mock-up images from my book including, the front cover, inside and various spreads.

I wanted the book to feel bright and fun to keep the child interested and really appeal top that target audience. I also wanted to make sure the book felt interactable. Originally I wanted to include other elements that would really bring the character to life. However, unfortunately with how big the Kew project developed. Therefore, even though I ran out of time within this project, I still wanted this book to build a connection with the reader. Therefore, at the end (as seen in my PDF in my submission folder) I included a little section with some prompts that would allow the child to write down their responses. It is important to allow the children to write about their feelings, not only does it help with their writing skills but also allows them to process their feelings and understanding towards the difficult subject.

Since developing my book and finalising the different elements, it was important for me to get the book printed to really see the design as a finalised project. I decided to do this using the external printers mixam. This involved a 28 page book with PUR binding and different cover paper thickness. This final book can be seen within my exhibition space and photo below.

Overall, I am really happy with my book. I feel it really captured my subject in a way that was effective and yet still targeted perfectly for my target audience.
