Project three- Key values of the collection
When thinking about my project and the collection I think it is so important to think about the values of the products and what they are of as well as the basic ideas and revisiting what they mean such as what it is, the target audience, and other important elements that must be thought about when creating final ideas for the collection.
When I have researched Kew gardens for this project it was clear they have a passionate view for the science side of plants and also how important it is for us to consider the environment and how to prevent our negative impact. Below is a screenshot from the about section on the Kew Gardens website and it is clear they feel very strongly about 'protecting nature'. This means when it comes to my products it is important to think about sustainable choices such as packaging, choice of inks used and how the products would be made.
As for the collection itself I want it to be a higher end home décor collection really promoting the plants of Kew and their beauty therefore, by promoting this through illustration and design we can bring to light the importance of protecting all these different species. I think this would also be nice to give the collection a name to give it that higher end feel and separate it from their other products.
As for the target audience and where it would be sold, this collection would be sold in their main shop within the gardens and also online so it can be sold to a wider audience outside of London. I would want the collection to appeal to both young and older adults all who have a passion and appreciation for nature and the beauty of the gardens. As for the high end feel, I want it to have this made in the uk feel, making it feel classic such as the influences of the collection.
